On the third day of BEMUS, on 3 November from 8 p.m., the famous Serbian cellist Nemanja Stanković will perform in the Belgrade Philharmonic, accompanied by Marino Formenti on the piano. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

Nemanja Stanković, cellist, is considered one of the leading young stars on Serbian scene. He has had solo performances with the Belgrade Philharmonic, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Serbica Orchestra, Italian Youth Orchestra (OGI), Czech Virtuosos, St George Strings, Niš Symphony Orchestra, BGO Dušan Skovran, Bitola Chamber Orchestra, Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra, Faculty of Music Symphony Orchestra in Belgrade, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with conductors: Rafael Payare, Fabrice Bollon, Bojan Suđić, Noam Zur, Denis Shapovalov, Biljana Radovanović, Le Fi Fi and has performed throughout Europe, North America, as well as in Japan, Senegal and Tunisia.
Stanković has won awards at numerous competitions and contests, such as the International Cellist Competition in Liezen (Austria), the International Music Youth Competition in Belgrade (Serbia), Johannes Brahms (Austria), Fidelio Special (Austria), Antonio Janigro (Croatia), Petar Konjović (Serbia). He was named the Most Promising Music Artist in Serbia by the ArtLinK Association in 2007 and by the Muzika klasika magazine in 2018, and in 2019 the Art Association Le Dimore del Quartetto named the Trio Imersio ensemble, of which Stanković is a member, the Ensemble of the Year, which earned them an award from the Brivio Sforza Foundation. He had notable performances at international festivals: BEMUS, NIMUS, OKTOH, Alpen Classica, KotorArt, Days of Mokranjac, Cello Fest, BUNT, STRINGS, LilaLo, etc.
Marino Formenti is considered to be one of the most interesting musicians of his generation. Praised by the Los Angeles Times as ‘a Glenn Gould for the 21st Century’, his fondness for experimenting with new and unexpected combinations led to the development of new concert experiences and unexampled projects. His performances include interpretations of the most recent works, improvisations, as well as individual reflections on classical masterpieces, and his latest projects often feature non-Western and popular forms of music.
