The BEMUS Festival expresses its deep regret over the death of the prominent composer Srđan Hoffman.
He was one of the most distinguished Serbian composers, professor emeritus of the composition department at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and head of its Electronic Studio. Srđan Hoffman, among other things, was the secretary of the Serbian section of the International Society for Contemporary Music, one of the founders of the International Tribune of Composers, the dean of the Faculty of Music and the vice-rector of the University of Arts in Belgrade.
His oeuvre includes numerous works of orchestral and chamber music, solo pieces, compositions for vocal and instrumental ensembles, and choral and electroacoustic works.
Professor Hoffman was a member of the BEMUS Council, many of his works were performed at our festival, some of them for the first time.
