Dragan Đorđević Suzuki started playing Violin (Suzuki method) at the school for Musically Gifted Children in Ćuprija, but two years later chose Cello and receive first lessons from Relja Ćetkovic. He graduated from the Faculty of Music Belgrade in the class of Sandra Belić. With the scholarship he pursued his master studies in London, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Stefan Popov, during which he played in London Symphony Orchestra and was a guest principal cellist in the Royal Northern Sinfonia. In 2002 Dragan continued studies in the class of Young Chang Cho at the Hochschüle fur Musik in Germany. He attended master classes of Misha Maisky, Boris Pergamenschikow, Aleksandar Fedorchenko, David Grigorian, Thobias Kuhne, David Takeno, Stanislav Apolin and also chamber music classes of Welinger, Takacs, Melos and Alban Berg Quartets.
He has been the Laureate of international competitions such as Antonio Janigro, Markneukirchen, Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Belgrade and many other Special Awards.
As a soloist and chamber musician across Europe at international music festivals BBC PROMS, Festival d’Аuvers sur-Oise, City of London Festival, Ohrid Summer, Belgrade Music Festival, Sion-Valais Shlomo Mintz Festival, Laureates of Katya Popova, Zagreb Summer Evenings, Music Festival Novi Sad, Kotor-Art, International Cello-Fest in Belgrade.
He has performed with Bergishe Symphoniker, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Serbica, Bamberg Chamber Orchestra, St. George Strings, Macedonian Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of RTV Slovenia, Symphony Orchestra of South-Eastern Europe, Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra. He collaborated with artists such as Shlomo Mintz, Itamar Golan, Mikhail Shcherbakov, Mincho Minchev, Jon Adams, Peter Sculthorpe, Roman Simović, Leslie Howard, Tan Dun, Nemanja Radulović and many others.
Dragan is also very passionate chamber musician. He is a member of the Rubikon string Quartet, which after many successful concerts and tours rank themselves as one of the leading Quartets of their generation.
At the moment he is professor of cello at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He plays James & Henry Banks Violoncello from 1797.
Emil Tabakov is well known worldwide as a guest conductor. He conducted opera performances in Teatro La Fenice, Teatro Reggio-Torino, concerts of Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonic de Radio France, Orchestre National d'Ile de France, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National de Loraine, Orchestre de Avignon, Orchestre de Cannes, Orchestre de Nantes, Symphony Orchestra of Arena di Verona, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Radio Moscow, Moskow Philharmonic, New Russia Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmony, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Rio de Janeiro Symphony Orchestra, Sao Paolo Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico, Monterrey Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra ”George Enescu” Bucharest, Athens Philharmonic Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Bourusan Symphony Orchestra (Istanbul), Presidential Symphony Orchestra Ankara and others.
Tabakov’s repertoire is enormous, showing a variety of styles from classical and romantic to contemporary genres.
His recording output is considerable including the complete Mahler Symphonies in a 15-CD set, and other works for Balkanton and other international labels (Balkanton, Elan, Capriccio Delta, Mega-Music, Pentagon, Gega-New и Emi).
He is the holder of prestigious national music awards like Musician of the Year of the Bulgarian National Radio in 1992, Crystal Lyre (2009) of the Union of Musicians in Bulgaria.
Heir of the Vojvodina Symphony Players, the orchestra was founded in 2011 as the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, organised as a “stagione” orchestra. They have held around 100 concerts to this day, reaching a high level of musicianship and good interpretative standards.
Lately, they have performed in over 70 premiering programs, in collaboration with some of the leading national conductors and guests from abroad. Amongst them, some of the artists who stand out are Saulius Sondeckis, Marco Parisotto, Mats Liljefors, Markus Poschner, Ligia Amadio, Francesco La Vecchia, Mladen Tarbuk, as well as active soloists such as Valeriy Oistrakh, Cyprien Katsaris, Aleksandar Madžar, Rita Kinka, Jasminka Stančul, Nemanja Radulović, Xavier Phillips, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, Nicolas Altstaedt, François Salque and many others.
As an important factor in the cultural milieu of Vojvodina, the orchestra is a regular participant of the NOMUS festival. They stepped on the international stage in 2014 by participating at the 60th Split Summer Festival and 65th Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Both festival concerts received very positive reviews in the media, while the young artist, Marco Graziani, the soloist in the Concerto for violin and orchestra by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, received the Judita award from the daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija. Finally, the latest acknowledgement arrived from the Muzika klasika magazine in 2014, whose jury declared them the orchestra of the year. In November 2015 the orchestra had a debut in the Kolarac Hall in Belgrade.
