Final Event of the 52nd BEMUS

On November 13, the 52nd Belgrade Music Festival, organized by CEBEF, closed with a concert by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra at the Kolarac Endowment.
The renowned orchestra performed under the direction of Hans Graf, who is honorary conductor of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and has conducted leading American orchestras (Cleveland, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Detroit), including a long collaboration with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In Europe, Hans Graf has conducted the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the German Symphony Orchestra in Berlin, the London Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This artist has performed at many important European festivals.


The concert programme at Bemus, composed of Mozart 's compositions, was opened with the Marriage of Figaro Overture, followed by two symphonies, in A major, K 201 and in D major, K 504, popularly known as the Prague Symphony.
The 52nd BEMUS was successful, despite difficult circumstances due to the epidemiological situation and the inability of some artists to perform, which led to the cancellation of several concerts. With the obligatory observance of the prescribed measures, seven concerts were held out of the planned twelve – the performances of the famous pianist Marta Argerič at the opening, the guitar band from Italy 40 fingers, the concert of the RTS Big Band which was supposed to perform the opera Tosca in a special arrangement, the NOMUS Quintet concert were canceled, as well as the performance of the famous tenor José Cura.
