maslejev 01A triumphant winner of XV International Tchaikovsky Competition (2015), awarded the first prize and gold medal, Dmitry Masleev became a real discovery of this prestigious music competition. Both the audience and the media approved the unanimous contest panel decision, which is a truly rare case for music competitions.
Describing the creative character of the pianist, music critics have noted the accuracy of his performance, the impeccable technique and sense of form (Neva time), possession of all piano techniques (Rossiyskaya Gazeta), brilliance, lyricism, confidence and spontaneity of his style (Kommersant), and summed up the verdict of the jury: "The Piano Panel decisions were quite honest and uncompromising. Hardly could it have been possible to make a more accurate and fair choice" (Neva time).
A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Mikhail Petukhov), Dmitry Masleev, while still a student, was the winner of many international competitions, among them the Chopin Prize competition (2011), where he was awarded the first prize and a piano, as well as an engagement to tour the cities in Italy. The musician has also performed in Russia, France, Romania and Germany.
In the season 2014/15 Dmitry Masleev was trained at the International Music Academy at Lake Como (Italy).
