CREATIVE MASTER WORKSHOP OF MARIJANA MIJANOVIĆ
The Art of Singing Baroque

A remarkable artist, contralto Marijana Mijanović, has already conquered world stages. She has collaborated with the greatest masters of Baroque interpretation of our times: William Christie, Emmanuelle Haim, Fabio Biondi, Marc Minkowski, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, Jean-Cristophe Spinosi... and ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants, Europa Galante, Les Talents Lyriques, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Le Concert D'Astrée, Les Musiciens du Louvre...

This time, Marijana Mijanović will present herself as an initiator and leader of a rare master workshop of baroque interpretation for young singers. The workshop is designed for students of solo singing who would like to try out this extraordinary genre, expand their repertoire, artistic interests and ambitions.
The workshop will take place from October 16th to 18th at the Stanković Music School every day 10.00 to 13.00 and 16.30 to 19.30. Ten selected singers will take part ACTIVELY, and all the rest who are interested are free to attend.
The workshop programme involves arias from following operas:
Monteverdi il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria & L'incoronazione di Poppea
Apart from those arias, candidates can choose solo madrigals and canzonetas: Lamento d'Arianna, Ecco di dolci raggi, Quel sguardo sdegnosetto, etc.
Handel Arias (with the recitative preceding the aria) and recitativi accompagnati from following operas: Alcina, Giulio Cesare, Rodelinda, Orlando
Vivaldi Arias from operas Orlando furioso, Bajazet, Montezuma

Active participants will be selected according to the submitted application, audio recording and, finally, after an audition which will also be held by Marijana Mijanović. This audition will also take place at the Stanković Music School, on Tuesday, October 11th, starting at 10.00 am. For candidates outside of Belgrade, audition will be organized a day earlier, according to the particular schedule.

The application should contain: name, surname, birth year, education data (Music Academy, schooling year, proffessors), cell phone number and e-mail address, as well as prepared program. For the participation in audition, it is necessary to prepare ONE of the above mentioned arias (according to voice type and affinity).
Participation on the Workshop is free.
Candidates outside Belgrade will take charge of their own travel and accommodation expenses.
The achievements of the Workshop will be presented at the final concert in the Atrium of National Museum in Belgrade, on October 19th.
